[ZCTU] Zambian Trade Union Congress targets Japanese embassy for 28 April HIV/Aids communication

ZCTU: The Zambia Congress of Trade Unions has confirmed that it will participate in the Global Union’s Campaign to persuade G8 countries to create a permanent working group on HIV-AIDS when they meet in the G8 Summit hosted by the Russian Federation this July. Writing on behalf of the ZCTU Secretary General, HIV/AIDS Coordinator Stephen Mumbi said that a letter is being drafted to the Japanese Embassy in Lusaka, which the Congress intends to both post and deliver in person, as advised by Alan Leather, Chair of the Global Union Committee.

In addition, the Congress intends to organise a Rally on 28 April to back the request made in their letter, and to show solidarity with the rest of the trade union movement on this important issue.
