The African Newsletter, which will come out in April, is made in collaboration with the ILO. FIOH website

En dag till minne av alla som förolyckats på arbetet

Workers Memorial Day den 28 april är den internationella fackliga minnesdagen för att minnas dem som förolyckats på arbetet. Minnesdagen startades i Kanada 1989 och LO anslöt sig 2003. Inför denna internationella fackliga minnesdag den 28 april genomför LO och LO-förbunden tio rikstäckande arbetsmiljökonferenser. Konferenserna genomförs i samarbete med LO-distrikten i respektive län/region.

Syftet är att minnas dem som har förolyckats på arbetet och att lyfta LOs och förbundens krav på nolltolerans för dödsolyckor på arbetsplatsen. Det förebyggande arbetsmiljöarbetet är en nyckel i denna strävan.

  IMF Remember the dead and ban asbestos This International Workers' Memorial Day, April 28, the IMF calls for a ban on the use of asbestos, particularly in countries in Asia. The International Metalworkers' Federation wrote to the embassies and consulates of China, India, Indonesia, Japan Pakistan, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam in Geneva this month calling for a ban on the use of asbestos and compensation for workers harmed by asbestos. more

  TUAC makes occupational health and HIV/AIDS a priority for 28 April On this 28 April, the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (TUAC) is taking part in an OECD Environment Ministerial meeting, as part of its efforts to convince the OECD Council of Ministers next June and the G8 next July to strengthen the linkages between public and occupational health.
